Participation of Algeria in the first regional workshop of “Transparency Now” program organized by the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI)

In the framework of strengthening international cooperation in the fight against corruption, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) organized the first regional workshop of the “Transparency Now” program, which took place in Luxor, Egypt, from 11 to 13 February 2025. The workshop brought together representatives from the european union’s southern neighbourhood, which includes eight partner countries : Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia. The initiative's aim is to promote the exchange of experiences and best practices in the investigation and prosecution of corruption cases, as well as to investigate ways to increase international cooperation and build efficient legislative structures to handle the issues posed by this transnational phenomena.
Algeria took part in this workshop with a delegation including the Director General of the Central Anti-Corruption Office (OCRC), the president of the Financial Intelligence Processing Unit (CTRF) as well as representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Court of Algiers, and the Center for Legal and Judicial Research.
The participation of the Algerian delegation in this session was fruitful, offering the opportunity to highlight the experience acquired by Algeria, particularly in the judicial processing of corruption cases. This event was also an opportunity for the Algerian delegation to learn more about the experiences of other countries in this field.
