International expert meeting on asset recovery and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals.

Nairobi, Kenya, 28-29 November 2022.

 

On November 28-29, 2022, the city of Nairobi (Kenya) hosted a meeting of international experts, on asset recovery and the achievement of the 2030 agenda and Sustainable Development Goals.

This meeting was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the governments of Kenya and Switzerland.

Mr. LAKHDARI Mokhtar, Director General of the Central Anti-Corruption Office (OCRC), has participated in the meeting as a representative of the African group.

 

This meeting allowed participants to learn about some pilot experiences in the organization and operation of entities in charge of managing assets recovery. These experiences are based on the relevant provisions of the United Nations Convention against Corruption as well as on the Sustainable Development Goals, taking into account the political, economic, and cultural specificities of the concerned countries.
